How to Keep Your House Clean all Week Long

Daily Cleaning Tips To Keep Your Home Looking Its Best

For most people, cleaning isn’t fun. It’s a chore that we put off for days, or even weeks, at a time. We dread it so much because it takes up so much of our time. But there is a way to make it easier.
Do it more.
I know. If you hate cleaning, why would you want to clean more? But you’re thinking about the type of deep cleaning that takes hours out of your day.
Cleaning doesn’t have to be like that.
Here are a few daily cleaning tips to keep your house looking its best.

In the Morning:

It might seem blasphemous to do anything that requires effort before your first cup of coffee (trust me, we can relate), but before long, your morning will feel incomplete without cleaning.

Make your bed as soon as you climb out of it.

A lot of people think this is unnecessary, but it completely transforms the look of your room. Besides, everybody knows it’s much better to climb into bed at night when it’s nice and tidy.

Prepare a load of laundry every day or every other day.

Be it clothes, towels, or sheets, you probably always have enough for a full load anyway. Keeping these items clean is imperative to eliminating clutter in your home. It can also help keep illness at bay.
Start the washing machine before you leave for work or as soon as you get home.

Empty your dishwasher every morning.

This allows your family to put their dishes in throughout the day and will radically reduce the amount of clean up time you’ll have after dinner. And it only takes a few minutes, so why not?

Spray your shower.

You should always spray down your shower whenever you use it, to combat mold and keep it cleaner longer. Doing this means you won’t have to deep clean your shower as often. You can buy a shower spray or make one at home.

In the Evening:

Cleaning at night can be a very satisfactory way to close out your day. And studies show that clutter is linked to stress, so when you wake up in the morning, you’ll feel calmer.

Finish Your Laundry

Put your load from this morning in the dryer if you haven’t yet. When it’s done (and this is the important part) fold and put your laundry away immediately. Otherwise, it’ll be a chore that you have to do another day.

Load Your Dishwasher

You should end each day by loading your dishwasher. Keep your sink empty, and you’ll get rid of all the pesky fruit flies attracted to your dirty dishes. This also allows you to unload your dishwasher in the morning. It’s a cycle that you shouldn’t break.

Wipe Down Your Counters and Sinks

Perhaps more than anything besides your floor, your counter and sinks get it the worst.
Be it the toothpaste splatters from this morning, the crumbs falling off of your lunchtime sandwich, or the juice spills that seem inevitable, your counters and sinks need a lot of love.
A quick wipe every night will keep them happy.

Vacuum or Sweep

The only thing that needs more love than your counters and sinks is your floor.
Consider asking everyone to leave their shoes at the door to minimize all of the dirt and dust that gets tracked in from outside. A clean floor makes a massive difference in your home.
As an added bonus, vacuuming and sweeping can also reduce the risk of allergies and asthma attacks.

Other Good Habits:

Here are a few more tips to keep your home clean. Once you get into the habit, you’ll never want to break it because your house will look so good.

Look before you leave.

Whenever you leave a room, look around for anything you can bring with you to put away. Did you leave a jacket on your couch or a book on the coffee table? These may seem like small things, but they can very quickly turn into big messes.

Recycle the junk.

Consider opening your mail next to a recycle bin. One of the biggest culprits of clutter is the loose papers that stack up in your home. Most of it ends up being junk mail anyway. By doing this, you can cut down on clutter before it even begins.

Don’t put it off for later.

Most importantly, if it takes less than five minutes to do, then do it right away. You’ll be glad you did later.
