Safety & Security

Maid Bright is a family-owned business.  We have been serving the Washington, DC area for over 19 years. We perform an extensive background check for each Maid Bright employee.  They must also complete a training program prior to starting.  When accidents happen (and they do), we are insured and bonded protecting you from loss and/or breakage.  If you decide to give us a house key, it will be added to the Maid Bright lock box system with keys and corresponding location kept at two different locations adding an extra security measure. 

Yes.  All Maid Bright employees must fill-out an I-9 form, employment eligibility verification, and provide working papers before starting. 

No.  Maid Bright handles all necessary tax forms and paperwork.


Our cleaning crews clean homes Monday to Friday between 8AM and 5PM.  We provide a timeframe for the cleaning and will make an effort to adhere to your schedule.

You do not need to be home.  Many customers give us a key during the in-home consultation, a visit to our office or send it by certified mail.  Cleaning teams lock the door and will not allow unknown people to enter your home.  Keys are stored in a secure safe at the end of each day.  If you elect not to provide a key and we do not have access to your home upon arrival, you may incur a lock-out charge.   Note cleaning crews do not smoke, eat or drink in your home. 

We will call you to reschedule your cleaning at a convenient time.  If for any reason you have to change your cleaning day and/or time, please contact us.


Maid Bright cleaning crews consist of two people.  Occasionally we may send our quality control manager with the team to ensure service quality.

We make an effort to assign the same cleaning team to regularly scheduled customer homes week after week.  Due to illness or vacation, we may send a different crew.  Rest assured, all cleaning crews are trained to provide the same consistent service. 

Our services include cleaning and dusting baseboards, pictures, lampshades, knick, knacks, window sills, furniture and basic light fixtures in all rooms.  We wash and/or vacuum all floors throughout your home.  In the bathrooms, we clean sinks, floors, tubs and shower stalls.  If you have specific needs, please contact us.

We clean interior windows only. Additional charges may apply.

We provide consistent professional cleaning services and customize our house cleaning services based on your needs and budget.  To ensure this level of exceptional service, there are areas and items Maid Bright does not clean.  These include:

  • Laundry and ironing
  • Pick up and remove clutter
  • Clean outside of windows
  • Steam carpet cleaning

Please put away personal belongings and de-clutter any surfaces prior to your cleaning. 

Please pick up after your pets before your cleaning.  If your pets are aggressive or if visitors make them nervous, please secure them prior to our arrival.

If your home is equipped with a security system, please make sure it is turned off or disarmed on the day of your scheduled cleaning.  Feel free to provide instructions for arming or disarming your security alarm, but note we will not be responsible for alarms that are set off during the cleaning. 

We would greatly appreciate it if you communicate instructions directly to the office via email or phone so we can update your file accordingly.  We will make your notes available to any team that cleans your home.

Call us within 24 hours of your cleaning and we will re-clean the area free of charge.

We do our best to handle your valuables with care.  However, accidents do happen.  Should damage or breakage occur while we are cleaning, we will alert you.  We will also make every effort to repair the item or replace it if necessary.  Insurance claims will be filed when appropriate.

We offer cleaning on a weekly, every two weeks or monthly basis.  We also offer moving cleaning services and one-time cleanings for special occasions.  Learn more about our cleaning services here

Before you schedule a first cleaning, a Maid Bright Manager will conduct a free in-home estimate to assess and understand your house cleaning needs.

Rates & Tips

While our recurring rates depend on the size and the condition of your home, our initial cleaning rates start from $189.

It takes more time to clean your house thoroughly during the first visit to bring it up to Maid Bright standards.  Then, recurring services will maintain your clean home. 

We require a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX) or ACH to be associated with every account. We will process the payment the day after the service is completed.

Our team members do not expect tips.  However, if you would like to recognize exceptional work, it will be appreciated and the teams can accept them.  Feel free to leave a tip in an envelope or ask us to add it to your charge.
